It is with great pride and humility that I step forward to assume the leadership of the prestigious CityUHK Eminence Society.
Eminence Society stands as a gathering of wisdom and experience, bringing together senior and seasoned alumni to form a steadfast pillar supporting the University’s continued growth. Within this community, members serve as guiding lights for younger alumni—leading by example through friendship, shared learning, and the generous exchange of insights drawn from both professional journeys and life experiences. The strong network we have woven over the years allows ideas to flow freely, perspectives to converge, and collective efforts to shape a brighter future for the University we cherish.
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr Raymond Leung for his dedicated service as Chairman of the 6th and 7th Executive Committees and for nurturing a spirit of unity within the Society. His unwavering commitment has laid firm foundations for the steady advancement of alumni development. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all members of the Executive Committee, whose dedication has helped carry forward the CityUHK spirit from one generation to the next. My sincere appreciation also goes to the senior management of CityUHK and the Alumni Relations Office for their continued support and wise counsel in building an enduring partnership.
As a founding member of the Eminence Society, and having served as a committee member and a Vice-Chairman, I have always been honoured to contribute my experience and expertise despite a demanding schedule. There were times when one meeting flowed into another, yet I was always glad to give back to my alma mater—the institution that nurtured me and shaped my path as an entrepreneurial leader. I also take great pride in seeing the Society grow into a hub of intellectual exchange and collective wisdom. Taking on this responsibility marks a significant milestone in my journey, one that is both challenging and deeply fulfilling. I am grateful for the trust placed in me, and I am committed to steering the Society in alignment with the University’s vision to “Innovate into the Future.”
Looking ahead, I hope the Society will continue to shine as a beacon for all alumni—offering guidance, support, and a sense of unity. We aim to strengthen the bridge between the University and the alumni community. In the coming years, we will introduce more activities, including gatherings, as well as new publications and video interviews featuring our members. Beyond local initiatives, we are also planning a field trip to Singapore to foster alumni connections and to learn from diverse business practices, which I believe will further enrich knowledge exchange within our community. I trust that these initiatives will create lasting value and shared growth for both our alumni and the University.
I am very excited to take on this important role and would like to thank all the dedicated members once again for their contributions in making the Eminence Society a success.
Dr SHI Lop Tak, Allen
Chairman
8th Executive Committee of CityUHK Eminence Society
