Dear members,
With support of Alumni Relations Office, the Society will organise an exclusive visit to the CityU Farm on 20 May 2023 (Saturday).
The Farm is the only teaching dairy farm in Hong Kong, which came to operation in November last year. The opening of the CityU Farm marked another milestone of the University in promoting veterinary medicine, the concept of One Health, safeguarding public health and championing animal welfare. It is equipped with state-of-the-art technologies and facilities and operates in a sustainable and environmentally friendly way. It is used for training Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (BVM) students in animal handling, veterinary examination, animal welfare and husbandry, farm management and food production and safety.
The Society is grateful to the Jockey Club College of Veterinary Medicine and Life Sciences (CVMLS) for its continued support and this special arrangement. Dr Eryl Done, Farm Manager of CVMLS, will lead the visit and brief members on development of the Farm. A lunch will be arranged before the visit to facilitate exchange and networking amongst members. Each member can invite a friend or family member joining the visit together. Seats are limited and registrations will be accommodated on a first-come, first-served basis.
