Congratulations to our Founding Member Dr David Chung Wai-keung on receiving HKSAR Government appointment

Dear members,
 
We are pleased to share with you that Dr David Chung Wai-keung, Founding Member of the Society, has been appointed by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government to serve on the Innovation and Technology Bureau as Under Secretary and he will assume office on 1 March 2016. We are proud of his extraordinary achievement and dedication to serving Hong Kong. David served on the first Executive Committee of the Society as a member between 2010 and 2013.
 
David graduated from the City University of Hong Kong in 2008 with a doctorate degree in Engineering. He has extensive experiences in information technology strategic management and entrepreneurship development. Prior to joining the Government, David worked as Chief Technology Officer at Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited, responsible for taking forward Cyberport’s core mission on IT infrastructure, industry collaboration and incubation platforms for IT entrepreneurs. He was also a winner of the “China Top 5 CIO Award” in 2013.
 
David has been active in public service. He serves as a Council Member of the Hong Kong Computer Society, a Convenor of the IT Expert Advisory Group of the Consumer Council and a member of Departmental Advisory Committee for Electronic Engineering of CityU. 
 
The Society warmly welcomes the appointment. We are confident that Hong Kong shall have a better development of innovation and technology with the effort of David and his team.
